HUB Ocean and Brazil’s leading maritime and marine services company, OceanPact, have announced a strategic partnership to transform nationwide ocean insights and accelerate efforts to protect and restore the country’s marine environment.
The collaboration combines HUB Ocean’s expertise in ocean data sharing with OceanPact’soperational capabilities, extensive fleet of specialized vessels, advanced monitoring technology, and proven track record in complex offshore projects. Together, they will identify critical data gaps, integrate operational knowledge with digital tools, and make high-value marine data more accessible via the Ocean Data Platform.
"Data is one of the most powerful tools we have to protect the ocean," said Kimberly Mathisen, CEO of HUB Ocean. "OceanPact brings deep environmental and operational expertise, backed by years at sea and a strong commitment to sustainability. Together, we can accelerate ocean insight and action in Brazil and beyond."
The partnership will also contribute to the co-development of key HUB Ocean initiatives, including the Ocean Sensitive Areas data product for Brazilian waters. "Partnering with HUB Ocean strengthens our mission to support the sustainable use of ocean resources," said Flavio Andrade, CEO of OceanPact. "By combining our at-sea experience, operational capabilities, and environmental knowledge with HUB Ocean’s data expertise, we can help bridge critical knowledge gaps and enable smarter decisions for ocean health."
