This summer, we are excited to have a team of Accenture interns working alongside us to harness the power of AI. The aim of their project is to make it easier to find, ingest, explore and gain insights from data using Generative AI.

ESG Data Hub aims to be DNB’s centralised, cloud-based platform for data to bring more transparency and effectiveness in finance, risk management, and investment decisions concerning ESG. The core principle of ‘the Hub’ is to pull data from public data sources and 3rd party data providers, and integrate them to internal data and systems, to service the entire group with ESG data and analytics.

WIO Symphony is a web tool that supports ecosystem-based marine spatial planning in the Western Indian Ocean. It was co-developed by a team led by the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management (SwAM) and 10 member states of the Nairobi convention. A dataset from HUB Ocean is central in this marine spatial planning tool and provides valuable shipping data.

We at HUB Ocean always say privately-owned industrial ocean data must be unlocked for the benefit of science, but why has this not already happened? What are the barriers? Do industries — for example, shipping, fisheries, or energy companies — know what data scientists really need? Do scientists know what data exists?

We’ve been working together with Copenhagen Business School, Green Digital Finance Alliance, S&P Global and WWF Denmark to develop a tool that will provide blue metrics to Nordic financial institutions. That way they monitor how their actions impact the ocean.
